2020 Encounter Event

2020 Person-Centred Encounter Group

In light of the various restrictions we all face we have decided to move the 2020 Person Centred Encounter Group online. We hope that, in doing so, we will be able to offer a public encounter event, despite the lockdown and travel restrictions many of us face.

When And Where

The event will run from 7 pm Friday 3 July to 5 pm Sunday 5 July 2020. Unlike our previous encounter events, we need to specify session times so people know when to join us. At the moment we are planning to run sessions:

  • 10 am to 12 noon
  • 2 pm to 5 pm
  • 7 pm to 10 pm

Other sessions may be added and session times may be revised to fit different time zones, as appropriate.

Getting There

At the moment we anticipate the meetings will take place over Zoom. We will send meeting details to everyone who books some time before the meetings are scheduled to start.  All the meetings will be password protected and we anticipate using the 'waiting room' facility to control access, preventing anyone from entering the meetings unexpectedly. The meetings will not be recorded.

We are limiting numbers to 49 delegates. The software allows the formation of break-out rooms so there is the facility for a smaller group experience should people required it.

Costs and Booking

All our events are not-for-profit with any surplus going back into future events. While meeting online means that we don't have to pay for food and accommodation (by far our biggest costs), we do have other expenses to cover and would like to pay the people hosting the meetings a token amount as they are required and committed to attend each session in full. As a result, we would ask for a donation of £10 per person per day to cover the costs. Any surplus will be used to provide bursaries for future events. If you are able to make a larger contribution, we would be very grateful. If you are unable to afford the suggested donation, or anything at all, please book anyway. We want this event to be as accessible as possible so have not imposed a minimum contribution level.

If you would like to reserve a place, please complete the online booking form.

Making a Donation

If you want to make a donation, please send payment to HSBC Bank, sort code 402908, account number 14152921. We can also take card and PayPal payments. Please email us for further details.
